This will be the third time I have submitted a complaint and today was the fifth time I have contacted Dte since May 1st 2017. On May 1st 2017 at 12:26pm I had services turned on at my new address, I was told that all I had to pay was the previous balance that I owed and the down payment would be waived.

I specifically asked the advisor if these charges would be applied to my bill at a later date and he said no. May 20th at 2:27pm I called because in fact that down payment was placed on my bill. The rude advisor assured me that this was just a mistake it would be taken off my bill and to just pay the current charges. June 28th at 3pm I talked to Marissa who stated 358 dollars was a security deposit for services being turned on, it stated in the notes on my account that the security deposit was supposed to be waived.

She transferred me to another advisor Brielle, she stated that the "system" went back and put the 358 dollars onto my account. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes while she worked on my account. When she came back she said that she had put my account on hold while the 358dollars were being processed to be taken off and said it will go away within the next few days. July 14th at 12:37pm I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor.

Advisor said the supervisor was on another call and there would be a very long wait, she stated the supervisor would call me back within 2 hours. The supervisor never called back. July 24th at 3:25pm I spoke with Marqueshia who told me that those charges should not be there and they would be taken off and she would also call me back by the end of her shift at 6pm. She never called back and the charges are still on my account.

I want to know why I have made multiple complaints as well as called multiple times being told by multiple people these charges would be taken off my bill told that people would contact me or call me back and none of these things you incompetent people have told me have actually happened?

This is absolutely ridiculous and it is appalling that you have this horrible customer service! Not only do I want these charges taken off my account I want an apology.

I moved to my new house at the end of march 2017 and I called to have services stopped and changed from my old house to my new house but they continued to bill me for time when I wasnโ€™t living at my old house. I have been dealing with this billing issue for more than 6 MONTHS I have called many times I have talked to supervisors and spent hours of my time on the phone trying to fix this issue and every time I get off the phone they tell me that it has been resolved and when I check a couple days later it is still NOT fixed.

I have even gotten the revised amount of $209 told to me MORE THAN ONCE!!! And itโ€™s in the notes yet it STILL is not fixed I was told not to pay the bill until it reflects the correct balance so I have been paying the amount due on my new address and leaving the old one alone. I have heard many excuses from its an error in the system, the new updates messed up, its been fixed, its under investigation, its been escalated and NOTHING has been done. Then just recently they have combined the two accounts and told me that I have to pay the full balance by October 2nd!!!!!!

If its supposed to be being investigated why would they combine the two accounts anyway and try to stick me with a balance that is INCORRECT!!!!!!!!!

Then when I did call the last time which was yesterday my phone call was conveniently dropped at 5:56PM after already being on the phone for an hour and a half. And when I did call back and try to get through the automatic recordings they told that the office was closed and NO ONE tried to call me back I am getting to the point where I am infuriated this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced I am just trying to get my bill to reflect the correct balance and get it taken care of WHY IS IT SO DIFFACULT TO FIX THE ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Need to file a complaint with the Michigan Public Service Commission they regulate DTE. You will magically finally get DTE to call you as they have ten days to call and fix the problem.

Also you should file an online complaint with the Michigan Attorney General's office.

You are not the only one. Thousands have problem with this bully/monopoly.
