I have automatic payment set up to pay my DTE bills every month.Today DTE withdrew $1500 from my account.
I do not owe anywhere near that amount. My next bill is due 5 days from now, in the amount of $90. They refuse to admit they made a mistake, they refuse to reimburse me, and they told me I was wrong because they have no record of the payment. My account is now overdrawn.
$1500 is a lot of money, and I may never see it again. The very rude customer service reps I talked to (around 5 in total, that kept transferring me to other people) did not care in the least that my money was stolen from me. They acted like I was interrupting their day to call in and complain.
The worst part is that I've done all I could, including filing a complaint with my bank, but I may never see that money again.Thanks a lot.
